HOW APPLYING FOR MEMBERSHIP WORKS:

  • After application materials are received, your materials will be reviewed within 1-2 weeks.

  • If your application is approved, an informal "meet and greet" will be scheduled with BHCS Director Bethany Rusen. This is to assess the applicant's technical ceramics knowledge, discuss goals of BHCS Membership and ensure that the applicant and the studio are a good fit for each other.

  • Upon approval of Director, attend a 1 hour safety orientation prior to moving in possessions and getting keys to the studio. New members must read the membership handbook and sign off on the terms contained therein.

  • Membership begins with a probationary period of 3 months, with an email check in at 90 days to answer questions, voice concerns and make adjustments if necessary.

  • Upon the completion of the probationary period, you are considered a permanent member.

  • A security deposit of $100 is required upon sign up. This is refundable at the end of the membership term if shelves are left empty and clean, studio key is returned and all kiln invoices are paid.

  • 30 days notice is required to end membership or change level of membership.
